Some Past Players' Comments

Having recently retired I want to play tournament chess on a regular basis again, having last done so over 20 years ago. I live in the North West so wanted to try somewhere other than my local area. The congress website was very appealing so I plumped for Torbay. Very glad that I did so. I had a super time and it was more than worth the 600 mile round trip. I honestly can't find a single negative thing that I think warrants comment. The organisation was excellent thanks to the dedicated people who put it together and the venue was perfect in my opinion. I met some lovely people and the whole experience was refreshing and most enjoyable. The best testimonial that I can give is that I will certainly be entering next year! Thank you for all the hard work that you, the organisers put in, and for making it such an enjoyable experience (results excepted!) for this very satisfied 'northerner'! Looking forward to doing it all again next year. Thanks.
2019 Major

I really enjoyed this year's congress as indeed I do every year.
