The Torbay Chess Congress - General Information
Tournaments
- Open (FIDE and ECF rated)
- Major - for ratings under 1950 (ECF rated)
- Intermediate - for ratings under 1750 (ECF rated)
- Foundation - for ratings under 1500 (ECF rated).
October FIDE and ECF ratngs will determine eligibility to play in a partcular secton. If an entrant has both a FIDE rating and an ECF rating, the higher of the two ratngs will be used. An increase in a player's ratng between entering the Congress and the publicaton of the October ratng list may necessitate a change in secton allocaton. This can be checked on the Torbay Chess Congress website. If you wish to withdraw as a result, please contact the Congress Secretary who will arrange a full refund of your entry fee. Alternatvely, your ratng may decrease. If you become eligible for a lower secton, and you wish to change, you should contact the Congress Secretary before 9th November 2023.
